Level 2 – Marine & Offshore Refrigeration Course (Includes F-Gas)

WHAT IS THIS COURSE ABOUT?

This course covers the fundamentals of refrigeration and air conditioning for the marine & offshore industry. We discuss the concepts of working on platforms, rigs, drillships, merchant ships, yachts and vessels and cover all of the types of equipment you are likely to be working on. This includes the provisions refrigeration system, living quarters AC and switchroom cooling systems.

This course will help you to understand the following concepts:

  • Refrigeration system components
  • The vapour compression cycle
  • Heat transfer & thermodynamics
  • The repair process
  • Repairing leaks on sea-water cooling systems
  • Charging refrigerant & leak detection techniques
  • Basic system commissioning
  • Refrigerant oil and recovery in accordance with the F-Gas regulations

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS WILL I GAIN?

Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded a formal City & Guilds 2079 certificate in F Gas & ODS Regulations. This is the mandatory legal qualification required to work with refrigerants.

WHO IS THIS 5 DAY COURSE FOR?

Specifically for marine & offshore workers who would like to improve their knowledge of repairing offshore refrigeration and HVAC systems and do not currently hold a valid C&G F-Gas qualification. This course is specifically aimed at offshore workers such as mechanics, electricians, marine engineers and ventilation technicians who need to repair refrigeration systems on platforms, rigs drillships, cruise ships, supply vessels, survey vessels and container ships. This course will give you the skills needed to confidently repair and commission refrigeration and air conditioning systems in marine environments.
